Edwin Sieniarecki Seizes Victory at the 3rd Annual Spring Disc Fling

The 3rd Annual Spring Disc Fling, held at the picturesque Beaver Creek disc golf course at Smithville Lake, MO, witnessed an exhilarating display of athleticism and determination as Edwin Sieniarecki (#117244) emerged victorious. Organized by Tournament Director Jeffrey (Gabo) Toro, this PDGA C-Tier event showcased top disc golf talents vying for the prestigious title.

Despite challenging weather conditions—temperatures hovering around 30°F, 10% precipitation, 48% humidity, and 19 mph winds—Edwin managed to secure a compelling -3 round (53) to clinch first place against 12 others. He narrowly outperformed Pete Bunyar (PDGA #163727) from Oak Grove, Missouri, with a score of -2 (54). The third place was secured by Jose Ossa (PDGA #28268) from Blue Springs, Missouri, and originally from Colombia, finishing at +1 (57).

Sieniarecki, a member of the Elite Team Tacky Saks and hailing from Clearwater, Florida, demonstrated exceptional skill on the Beaver Creek course. His careful approach and outstanding consistency helped him maintain an edge over his competitors.

In an exclusive post-victory interview, Edwin opened up about his experience: “Well, I went into the round pretty nervous today. It was the coldest round I’ve ever competed in, at 0 degrees at the start. I knew the course and knew I could put some low numbers down, but after the front 9, par seemed to be what I wanted. After I checked the scores on hole 13, I knew I needed another birdie to put myself in the lead. I hit a 50-footer on 15 and just decided to lay everything up right after that.”

Other notable players in the MPO division included Brett Lance, who finished fourth at +2 (58), and Derrick Holt and Michael Stumfoll, who tied for fifth place with a score of +3 (59). Vincent Como and Charles Peters also shared the seventh position with a score of +4 (60).

As the 3rd Annual Spring Disc Fling comes to a close, we reflect on the exceptional performances and intense competition that unfolded at the Beaver Creek disc golf course. Edwin Sieniarecki’s tenacious triumph in the face of challenging weather conditions not only solidifies his reputation as a top disc golf competitor but also serves as a shining example of perseverance and dedication for aspiring athletes.

The Spring Disc Fling has become a popular event on the disc golf calendar, with players and fans eagerly anticipating next year’s edition. Congratulations to all the participants for their remarkable performances, and a special shout-out to Tournament Director Jeffrey (Gabo) Toro for hosting yet another successful tournament.
